Thistles and Brokenness

Grand Ledge is a long semi-truck ride from the brokenness of prostitution in Nashville, TN but I wonder what kind of fractures hide in the shadows of our community? What kind of brokenness requires Gospel action and words on our part?  The story of these two women and the selfish men who crush them is a sober reminder that there is great Gospel need in our world.  God bless Thistle Farms and the love they show these women.

Three things stick in my mind:

  • We can’t just proclaim the Gospel – we need to be a part of rescue.
  • We can’t just try to rescue those who are broken without the power of the Gospel.
  • Who in Grand Ledge needs to be rescued?  Who needs the Gospel?

    Hi Pastor Andrew
this was amazing, . What a testimony of the Powerful force of healing in God’s love. Only His hand can heal wounds this deep. What a good reinder too, that women on the streets need love, not condemnation. thanks for sharing
PS: this is my first time on your blog (or any blog for that matter– I kind of live in the last century 🙂
