Rethinking Retirement

I’d like to know what the retired (or near retired) folks think of this?

If you’re deep into your retirement, is it possible to do a uturn?

Younger people:  How might you begin to change your thinking so that you don’t just pleasure away 20 or 30 years?

Disclaimer:  I’m not against pleasure or rest, or even golf for that matter.

    Andrew:

I like this a lot, but I wonder about his connection between retirement and the needs of the world. Does an American retiree really contribute to the problem of poverty in the developing world?

Piper always goes big! If he’s going to challenge retirees, he’s going to ask them to solve a problem of biblical proportions. That being said – a significant segment of our population could mobilize a lot of money, a lot of (wo)man hours, and a lot of personal sacrifice to impact our world in a focused way. They have resources and time like no other group – why not save the world! Maybe they could play a little golf in Africa on the weekends!

I agree with that. They can and should do more. It’s certainly not our human right to live for pleasure. Maybe that’s why we live in Michigan!
