Front Porch Living

Tom Hazelip and his wife went from back yard suburban living to front porch inner city living. This should challenge us. They sacrificed much and radically reoriented their lives to the mission. They attend Fellowship Bible Church in Brentwood (near Nashville) Tennessee. I particularly like Fellowship Bible’s Kingdom Assignment Stories as ways to celebrate what God is doing in and through the Believers. Keep reading to watch the video about the “Front Porch” family.

This represents a good model for moving away from me first living and towards Kingdom / Missional living. I wonder what GLBC’s version of Front Porch ministry might be?

Any ideas?

WOW…WOW…WOW. That is what it is all about. I love that they moved “with no plan” for what they were going to do. They simply followed the Spirit and look at the results. Wow.

Two great points I like. 1) What makes you think you can make a difference – just goes to show that God can be glorified when we trust and let him work through us. 2) A big note for Dad’s, most kids “see God like we see our own father,” that says so much as to the impact that we as fathers have on our own and every child.

For GLBC, how many of us know the people around the fenced area in our own GLBC backyard? Maybe that is a good place to start!
