The Disciples Peter and John Running to the Sepulchre on the Morning of the Resurrection
A little culture for us . . . a painting by Eugene Burnand (1898). Oil on Canvas displayed at Musee d’Orsay museum in Paris.
I love how they are leaning forward. Of course, John is in front. John wrote (John 20:4) “Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.” Look at the expressions on their faces. A fine piece of art.
