It’s been at least a week since I have read any blogs or contributed anything to this blog. Life has a way of getting busy! But this afternoon, as I was trying to catch up, I came across a fantastic blog series on the Emerging Church Movement and where ECM fits in the Christian world.

The Bible commands us to be hospitable in several places (particlulary elders), and I have always assumed I knew what that meant. You know, have people over for dinner, put visiting missionaries up overnight, things like that. But in the NT context, I’m not sure I’ve seen it correctly.

My boys decided that they were going to watch Survivor on Thursday night - with out my input - and when I realized that their eyes were glued to the show I intervened and counseled them (strongly) to turn it off and consult Mom and Dad before they view TV shows that are not part of our normal viewing. The amazing claim in Genesis 1:26-27 that man and woman are created in the image of God is absolutely foundational to the Christian. To understand “image of God” is to understand the meaning of life.
