An Emerging Practical Ecclesiology: An Overview

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve discussed the ecclesiology of the Emerging Church Movement (ECM). I’ve discussed ECM’s understanding of postmodernity, evangelicalism, missional theology, and the kingdom of God. But the real passion of ECM is not orthodoxy (right thinking), but orthopraxy (right living). So, what is ECM’s practical ecclesiology? Are Evangelicals Going Green?

MSNBC reporter Alex Johnson claims the “evangelical awakening” to the environment and climate change has begun. Rev. Richard Cizik, a VP for the National Association of Evangelicals, agrees. But, as Johnson continues, not all evangelicals agree. In fact, there seems to be a significant rift within evangelicalism regarding the environment. Could this mean global disaster for evangelicals?
